I am frequently asked, "How did you find yourself in the role of National Gin Ambassador, and what exactly is it that you do?" Here is my story.
When I graduated school with a degree in Business Administration, concentrating in Real Estate and Land Development, I did not anticipate that I would be working as a spirits and cocktail professional a decade later. The bust of the California real estate market, combined with the desire to live an urban lifestyle, caused me to follow my dreams and seek an unconventional career path.
Turning to the industry that supported me as I worked my way through college, I began working as a bartender in San Francisco, and later New York City, immersing myself in cocktail culture and finding a position behind the stick at some of America’s premier cocktail bars. My passion led me to compete in cocktail competitions, earning titles both locally and nationally before competing internationally in 2012.
In 2012, I accepted a role as the Brand Ambassador for Tanqueray Gin, growing the brand while expanding my role from local, to regional, to national, and later being named the National Gin Ambassador across all Diageo gin brands. My current position allows me to utilize my strength as a spirits educator, teaching category and brand-focused sessions to bartenders nationwide.
Over the next two months, I will be traveling to cities like Denver, San Francisco, and Miami to present the original seminar titled 'A Winning Combination,' sponsored by Tanqueray and Diageo World Class. These sessions are some of my favorites, because I have the opportunity to meet and inspire bartenders across the country to pursue their passions and further their careers.
In tandem with my position, I am a blogger and social media content creator. When I’m not talking about gin in a city near you, you can find me online showcasing my love of style, dining, travel, and fitness on my personal channels, as well as providing content and social media strategy for brands.
